DUSHARIN:
That day was the day of main crossings. We crossed the whole valley twice, passing through ten channels. The first channel turned to be a very hard one to cross. In some areas the water was waist-deep, and we had to make up small groups of 2 or 3 to stay against it and not to be took away. How could we do without any adventures? When Sasha Dosaev, Vadim Melnikov and Yura, our interpreter, were crossing the channel, Yura stumbled and ducked into the river knocking down Vadim. Sasha Dosaev was strong enough to catch them both floating in the stream. Otherwise Yura could be took away not even having a chance to swim out.

VOLKOV:
We had to use the camels to make one more crossing towards the end of the day. That time the water was deeper. There were same quarrels: where to put that guy or another, whose luggage was heavier and so on. Finally, we'd made the crossing, and everything turned out to be nice.
DUSHARIN:
When you cross the stream using a camel, you have a strange and unusual feeling. The water is bubbling everywhere, and you feel like the camel is the master of your life. At that moment he is holding your life well in his hand (in leg, to be precise).

We decided to stop not far from the crossings. From that place we could see the pass we had to go through next day to cut the route. The caravan would go bypass along the valley.
