  • Issues permits for peak climbing.
 
China Xinjiang Mountaineering Association

  • Issues permits to climb in Karakoram from the Chinese side;
  • Does visa support for expeditions, mails invitation to the team and to Embassy;
  • Carries on negotiations concerning expedition service conditions on the China territory;
  • Issues assignments and adjusts deadlines on expedition service by service providers i.e. mountaineering associations in Kashgar, Yecheng, Taldy-Kurgan;
  • Receives payment for service cashless or (preferably) in cash, US$. Independently settles accounts with subordinate associations;
  • Serves as a guarantor of residence in China and solving all the issue problems with the authorities. Also guarantees performance according to the contract between the association and the expedition organizers;
  • Offers liaison officer and translation services;
  • Has its own banking account, the seal, proprietary labels, souvenirs and promotional materials.
 
Kashgar Mountaineering Association
Kashgar
 
  • Carries out Xinjiang Association's assignments, but is able to solve many problems independently;
  • Provides expedition with transport from the Chinese border to the Mazar settlement (the beginning of the caravan path);
  • Provides an accommodation in the hotel of Kashgar and the cultural program (by request);
  • Provides an assistance (escort) while crossing the border and passing customs examinations;
  • Arranges and registers all the documents needed for the expedition (summit certificate, equipment acts etc.);
 
Taldy-Kurgan local Mountaineering Association
Taldy-Kurgan
 
  • Provides expedition with caravan of camels on the instructions of Xinjiang or Kashgar Mountaineering Association;
  • In case of need you can hire additional camels in Mazar ($27 per camel per one-day passage).
