While organizing the expedition to China

To our mind, the transportation is expensive in China.

To use the wireless connection, you should have a permit from the Chinese
side (it must be paid for 3 months before the expedition).

It is nice to have an interpreter while buying things. People charge a
foreigner at least 3 times the average price. It is OK to bargain even
at the store.

Mind the time zones. Officially, China lives by Peking time.
