While crossing the border line

You’ll need several copies of the list of the participants (not less than
6): for a checking post, for a customer service and for Kirghiz and Chinese
medical commissions. So, it would be nice if you have your list done in
the following way:

the first name, the middle name, the last name;

the date of birth;

the place of birth;

the passport details (for foreign passports).

You might need the list of the equipment in Russian and in English. You
should also have a separate list of equipment you are to take back from
China.

You might need originals of faxes between you and Chinese side to prove
the purpose of visiting China.

Medical references are necessary (AIDS-test results and shots given).

You should clear out the schedule of the customer service beforehand. In
Torugart, the customer service is opened into one direction before noon
and into another after noon, both from the Kirghiz and from the Chinese
side. Take note of the time zones. Officially, China lives by Peking time.

You are not allowed to transport perishable food across the border and
you can’t buy all the things at the point of arrival.
